Luna, 40″ x 40″. Acrylic, sculpted plastic, and mechanical pencil on canvas.

With this series, I am playing with the duality of beauty and challenges, permanence and change, through a unique interplay of plastic sculpture within drawings of flowers and natural elements. It’s a visual narrative of emotions and moments, where the organic flow of nature meets the stark, unyielding presence of interruption.

At the heart of each piece lies the concept of positive disruption. The vibrant, delicate details of flowers and natural scenes represent the fluidity of emotions and the transient moments of life. In stark contrast, the integration of plastic sculpture disrupts this natural harmony. These plastic elements are physical interruptions and symbolize the adaptability required in the face of change. They remind us of our resilience and ability to grow and transform amidst life’s inevitable disruptions.

The use of plastic carries an environmental commentary. In a world grappling with ecological challenges, the plastic in these drawings—imperishable and non-recyclable—speaks to the enduring impact of human actions on nature. It is a permanent disruption, a stark reminder of our environmental responsibility.
